Perfection! That's the only word I know to best describe the sheer awesomeness of Genesis Queen, book 3 in the Road to Hell series, by the paranormal romance Queen Gracen Miller! Anyone who is a true fan of Gracen"s knows not to expect anything less of this spectacularly, uber talented author!

Genesis Queen is the third book in the Road to Hell series, not a stand alone book, if you have not started your Road to Hell then reading Pandora's Box is where you need to start.

Oh me, oh my!! Fellow Hellhounds get ready for a sexy, steamy, lustfilled ride! Every new book in the series gets just a little bit hotter and a little more sinful. It goes without saying, cold showers and thoughts of baseball, were the only things that kept me from spending my life savings on AA batteries and cheap wine on my latest journey down the "Road to Hell".,

Not only do we have Micah and Phoenix to make the perspiration and other anatomical fluids flow, added to the heap of sexy, make you tingle in all the forbidden places, hunks are the immortal dragons Kur and Cael. Oh and we can't forget our sexy, Crystal Genie, Zen (my favortie bottle of sexy btw) and the evil to the core King of Hell Elias.

Our beloved heroine Madison just can't catch a breathe from her termoiled filled life. No sooner than Madison rescues Nix from Hel, Micah, Madison's yummy falllen angel turned Demon King spouse, shows up on door step with an ominous prophecy. Some unkown nemesis is coming for Madison and Amos helbent on their complete and total destruction. Little does the approaching mysterious antagonists know Madison has a small army of hottness ready to defend her and Amos from the impending doom that threatens their very existence. If you ask me Mads is the luckest woman/succbus on this earth and the depths of hell!Who else has the Arc of Heaven, a King of Hell, the fierce and ferocious "Crystal Genie" plus an entire Dragon army willing to fight to the death and beyond for their Genesis Queen.

I was so awestruck and taken aback that once the cloud of "WTF "cleared and I slowly regained my composure, I was still completely oblivious to my gaping jaw lying on my chest. I know all my fellow Hellhounds around this world, and the underworld will experience the devilishly sensory overload that I so enjoyed when I traveled "the Road to Hell".
Flutter by Luv is a short short by the wonderful L.M. Preston. It is a touching first love tale of an awkgward girl who doesn't realize her true inter and outer beauty until the right guy comes along to show her. I fell so in love with the characters in this story! Dawn is the ugly duckling turned into the beautiful swan and Tony is the sweet wonderful boy we all wished we had in our lives when we all went through that stage of life. L.M. did a wonderful job with this story the only thing I found wrong with it was I wish it had been a full length novel. Because for me it was over way too soon. Flutter of Luv would be perfect for a quick read on your lunch break or anytime you find you don't want to get wrapped up in a full length novel. Flutter of Luv can be found on Amazon for just .99 cents! Here is the link so go check it out. And please remember to leave a review on Amazon and or Goodreads.
Are you a big YA Paranormal Romance fan? Do you love an epic romance story? If you answered yes to these questions then Creatura should be the next book on your to read list! The amazing couple Isis and David who are featured in this amazing story are like a new age fairy tale. Nely's writing style is smooth and easy to follow with an old fashion appeal.. Nely does a great job pulling readers into her world. The biggest hook for me is David Chios. He has an old fashion romantic heart that will make every reader fall head over heels in love with him. And then Isis is amazing too with her bull headed attitude and loyal heart. There just isn't anything not to love about this wonderfully timeless story. The cliff hanger ending will have you begging for the next book in the series and leave you with a craving that nothing else but that next book will fill.
As always I hope you don't take my word for it but read it for your self.
Pandora's Box by Gracen Miller is a paranormal thrill ride that will have you aching for more. There isn't one dull moment in this entire book! Gracen described every detail so well, I feel like her story will be branded on my brain forever. I know a book is destined to be great when I can't get it out of my mind after the final page is turned! Gracen's masterful storytelling and loveable characters have me hooked and wanting more. J.R. Ward should be taking lessons from Gracen, because she has nothing on this talented southern author!
One of the main pulls for me is the beautiful feisty southern bell Madison Wescott. This strong, brave mother refuses to set back and become a victim to the demonic forces that torment her and her young son. It is so refreshing to have a female lead who doesn't become a whining whip of a woman relying solely on a man to rescue her.
The sexy strong Phoenix Brimingham and his family will steal your heart. This family of demon fighting Sherlocks are the second hook in this powerful book. Phoenix is by far one of the sexiest made up men I have ever had the pleasure to read about. Pandora's Box is just the first book in this powerful series and I look forward to following each character on their Road to Hell.
So as always don't take my word for it and read it for your self. I have added the links for you to purchase this book and the second (which I haven't had the chance to read yet) at the bottom of this review. Also the link to Gracen Miller's Facebook fan page is here as well. Thank you for taking the mind to read my review and I hope each reader enjoyed it.
Have you ever jumped? Have you ever lay in an alley clinging to consciousness, bleeding to death, knowing you could die where you lay? I have. The streets are a dangerous place, watch over your shoulder while you walk or you may just find out what I'm talking about.Horrors lurk in the shadows, evil prickles the back of your neck, forgotten that gut feeling...waiting to catch you off guard. Friends can't help you, although they may try. I watch them fall around me and I wonder how we got here. How did we enter this hell?

Nowhere is safe in the neighborhood. Clay and his gang, the Locals, can't walk the streets alone these days. Fighting for everything and nothing at all, the Locals struggle on the streets trying to build a safe life around each other. Haker and his followers, another neighborhood gang, have set a vendetta against them, trying to tear down their protection, but the Locals aren't backing down--they're going down swinging. Clay's life will never be the same when a chain of events turns deadly and leaves all of the Locals changed forever.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Shandy L. Kurth will take you on a wild amazing ride in this gripping tail of survival. Her is his Bio and guest post enjoy!

A Southern transplant who has retained none of his accent but all of his charm,
DC Juris is an out and proud transgender bisexual living in Upstate New York
with his husband, four dogs, three cats, and a menagerie of Halloween props just
creepy enough to keep people guessing about his sanity. He's still hopelessly
single when it comes to the woman in his life, and he'll gladly entertain offers
or applications for the position! In the rare event that he's not writing, DC
can be found surfing the internet for random research, killing things on his
Xbox, reading, taking pictures of the world around him, or playing Farmville, to
which he admits a complete and totally blissful addiction.

Hi folks! I'm DC Juris, and I'll be
your guest blogger today. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a
transgender guy who writes GLBTQ and heterosexual romance - typically
fantasy or contemporary.

Typically, my stories are full of hot,
steamy sex. Some of them, I've been told, are "more sex than
story." While a lot of authors would take that as an insult, I'm
fine with it. You see, I like sex. I like to read it and I like to
write it.

So why, you ask, did I write "Who
Better Than Canyon?" without any sex?

The answer is because that's how the
characters dictated it would go. I've been frequently told that a
romance without sex wouldn’t sell. Based on that notion, I'd always
had it in the back of my mind to do one - but not this one. I was
thinking in a couple years. But as I kept writing, I realized these
guys just weren't getting in bed with each other - at least not in
the carnal sense. Because there wasn't any sex involved, I made sure
to have the cover artist do a rather "tame" cover - no half
naked men, nothing sexual or erotic. And I'm really glad I did.

I've gotten a lot of good feedback.
Reviewers have said things like "unexpected" and
"refreshing" and "nice change of pace." That's
all well and good, but what's really important to me is the reader
response - which has been wonderful as well. I've been inundated with
e-mails thanking me for writing something without "all the
embarrassing extra stuff." One woman appreciated the lack of sex
because she felt she could share the book with her teenage son, who
is gay. She said she knew "he is eventually going to have sex"
but she'd "rather not think about it…not because he's gay but
because he's my baby. At least he can read this story, see a positive
gay relationship, and realize he's worth more than his penis."

It never occurred to me that someone
might share one of my stories with their kids. Let's face it, as an
erotic romance writer, I don't have that opportunity. They can't even
visit my website, since it contains graphic content and is strictly
age eighteen and over. It was nice to think that maybe my work might
reach the next generation. Not that I think they can learn from it or
anything like that. I'm a firm believer that if you want sex advice
or instruction, you don't pick up a romance novel, whether you're
male or female. I can remember reading bodice ripper type stories
when I was a teenager, and the only information I walked away with
was that a woman wasn't anything without a man, sex was always either
excruciatingly painful or amazingly wonderful with no middle ground,
and that every man came complete with hands calloused in "all
the right places" and a huge, throbbing rod. Definitely nothing
they covered in Sex-Ed.

Which is not to say that, nowadays,
some authors don't strive for as much reality as possible. But,
really - it's a fictional story. It's not an instruction manual. A
lot of today's m/m romance contains gay men who fall head-over-heels
in love at first sight (some without even speaking to the other man
first), who are unable to keep their hands off the object of their
obsession (even at the risk of losing their jobs), and who frequently
engage in beyond-human acrobatic sexual acts and anal sex without
lube. Clearly, we're not writing Sex 101 here.

No, the reason I'm touched about her
son being able to read my work is that he had characters to identify
with. Growing up, none of the romances contained any characters I
understood. I had a female body, but I didn't feel like a female. I
didn't swoon, I didn't need to be rescued. I wasn't hard headed to a
fault, or ditzy and stupid. I felt like a man - but not the men in
those books. I wasn't overbearing and powerful, or rude and aloof. I
longed for pages that contained people I could relate to. Why were
there no gay characters? Where were the characters who questioned
their gender - surely I couldn't be the only person in the world
doing that? And surely, I wasn't the only person like me who read
stories?

I'm thrilled to have found a genre
where I can write about characters I like - characters like me.
Flawed and real, with "alternative" views and lifestyles
(at least "alternative" according to society.) If they're
having raging hot sex (therein lies the fantasy LOL) then that's even
better.

But I'm glad that young man got a
glimpse of romance outside the cookie cutter norm. I'm glad he got to
have his happily ever after fantasy in the pages of my work. After
all, that's all any young person wants - the illusion of the happily
ever after.

Caddy
Rowland grew up in the Midwest with a stack of books that almost
reached the ceiling before she was five. Books, along with her vivid
imagination, have always been her closest friends.
She lives in
Minnesota with her husband, who was her high school sweetheart. They
are owned by two parrots. Yes, they can talk, and yes, they can bite!
Melanie, the African Grey has such an extensive vocabulary that Caddy
sometimes thinks Melly is preparing to become an author.
After
over 20 twenty years in advertising sales, Caddy decided to pursue her
childhood dream of becoming an author in 2011. There are four books
planned for the Gastien series, and many other books in her head. Now,
if only she can learn to type 2000 words a minute...
Her goal as
an author is to make readers laugh, cry, think, and become intimately
connected with her main characters. To her, a good main character stays
in the mind long after the story has been read. They should become as
real in the mind as the person next door.

In this both dark and hopeful first book, young Gastien Beauchamp begins his journey to Paris with tow goals in life. The first is to become an artist with his own studio, following his own rules. That is an almost impossible dream for a peasant.. Gastien has no money,no formal training, and is a naive eighteen year old fresh off the farm. Paris spits out talented men into the gutters every day. "Good" gets you nowhere. "Great" maybe gets you a bowl of soup.

The second is to become the greatest lover in France. That should be easy.. With his stunning looks, and his willingness to learn, the women of paris are about to be awakened in a way they have only dreamt about in the 19th century!

Gastien swears that he has no interest in love. Love would only take away his dreams. But he is innocent and does not realize that sex without love can be quite empty. Before he can learn that, he must face obstacles and heartaches that will threaten to destroy his very soul.

Insatiable, burning passion. Focus and drive. Raw, natural talent. Armed with those, Gastien is determined to succeed at any cost. Poor Gastien. If he could only know in advance what struggles lay before him, he might think twice about leaving home. However, he is young and full of hope. The dreams burn relentlessly inside of him, not allowing him a moments rest. And so the journey begins.
My Review

Caddy Rowland will take you on a trip back in time to 19th Paris, where you have to be rich to have running water and electric lights. Where men and women starve to death in the streets on a daily basis., I felt like I was right there in the 19th Paris with Gastien. Gastien is a charming, handsome man that you will be drawn to. Caddy's writing style is very smooth and easy to follow. I was afraid with all the French words it would be confusing and hard to understand. But with glossary in the front, plus the footnotes at the bottom of the pages it was easy to follow right along with Gastien's story.

With such a great storyline, this book deserves to be put to the top of your to read list. But if you are the kind of person who is offended by strong sexual content and crude language then this is not the book for you. I know that as a writer, these things had to be written to show all the heartache and pain Gastien suffered. I have to admit, there was a part in the book I had to skip over because of all the detail and awkwardness of the situation. Don't take this the wrong way, I don't want to discourage you from reading this book, it just shows how great Caddy is at describing her story. I just felt that I should warn the faint of heart.

All in all Gastien Part1: The Cost of the Dream, is a very amazing story worth you time and attention. So on my 5 star scale I give Caddy Rowland 4 and a half stars :) Here are the links on Amazon to buy either the paperback issue or the Kindle version.

Today on Christmas Eve I want to take the time to introduce you to a wonderful man, that I have had the pleasure of getting to know in the past few months. Howard has wrote five books including his next release The Stereotypical Freak due out in March 2012...all his books teach kids an important life lesson. If you have children that you would like to take an interest in reading, then I suggest you pick up one of Howard's books. They would be great reads for any child interested in Hockey. There are links at the end of the interview to buy a copy.. And since Howard is such an awesome guy, he is giving away a signed T-shirt, and a signed poster..how cool is that!.Ok, so without further a due the great Howard Shapiro.
At the time I had a story that I wanted to do as a follow-up to my middle grade novel, "Hockey Player For Life" and I was looking to do something different and everything just kind of meshed together from there!

Actually, "The Stereotypical Freaks" is not about hockey... its about four disparate high school seniors who come together to form a band to play in their high school's Battle of the Bands. At its heart though, it is about friendship and learning to live with loss. However, the sequel to "TSF" which has the working title "Bittersweet Rage" will find me returning back to hockey in a very unique way... stay tuned!

Jacob SweenyOf Blood and Pulse picks up the story right where Pulse Of Heroes left off. After a rocky start, Michelle and Elliot's relationship seems to be teetering on nothing but a few fraying strings, despite the great love that they both feel for one another.
Haunted and scarred by the events of the past year, they both suffer from traumatic consequences. To complicate things even further, someone who knows far too much about Elliot shows up unexpectedly, bringing revelations that even Elliot as a 4,700 year-old immortal has a hard time grasping. This visitor's mere presence adds yet another strain to the couple's already fragile relationship.
However before Michelle and Elliot can remedy and mend their love, they must heal themselves, and that task will not be as easy or as safe as it seems. Join Michelle and Elliot on an epic life-and-death adventure that will take them to the four corners of the world in search of the key to their survival.

Well A. Jacob Sweeny did it again! This series just gets better with each book. If your looking for a book packed full of action, history, high adventures plus an epic love story then this is the book for you. With a great story line and loveable characters A. Jacob Sweeny has a series that will reel you in and have you begging for more. The story starts off exciting and ends in the same way. The Twilight Saga doesn't hold a candle to this series. I was getting so sick of the same old vampire, werewolf and fallen angel books. Then along came The Pulse Myths series. It has a refreshing storyline that doesn't follow the crowd.
Mrs. Sweeny puts so much love and effort in her writing and it shows in every word she writes! I was so blowed away by this series that I can't sing its praises enough. I am so grateful to had the honor of reading this book. The only thing I can find to complain about is the long wait for the next book in the series to be written and released! I hope you take the time to pick up this epic series and read for yourself exactly why I feel so strongly about these books.
One last word of advise A. Jacob Sweeny put so much time and effort into her work that truly hope you would never try to steal her story! She has had this to happen to her first with Pulse of Heroes and then again with Of Blood and Pulse. I am strongly against this and frown upon the theft of someone's hard work. So please do the right thing and BUY DON'T STEAL her work.

So I had the pleasure of reading this wonderful book a few weeks ago and I was not disappointed. Liz did a great job with this book. I loved the characters and the emotions of this book. If your looking for a great spooky read then look no more. In this haunting tell about a woman who's beloved husband was murdered, you question through out the book if it was some paranormal force or a real live person who committed the crime. There is no use in trying to figure it out until you have read the last page. Just when you might think "Hey, I know who or what did this." she throws a twist a you that you never saw coming. This book is a great read for men and women alike. Its not a sappy romance tale but a trilling who or what done it. So grab your copy today and be prepared to be trilled and chilled to the bone.

To make matters worse, she is alone in the house, snowed in by a blizzard, with no way to call for help. While exploring the house in a desperate attempt to trigger the return of her memory, she discovers a small room beneath the basement. She steps inside, and an unknown force instantly transports her to a mysterious, pastoral land.
She finds a quaint village that at first glance seems life a peaceful place: but Laura soon learns that peace is merely an illusion. Why are terrible rumors circulating about the village's leader? Why do the villagers worship a sinister deity who bears no resemblance to her own powerful and loving God? Most importantly, will she ever remember who she is and find her way home? In her quest for answers, she uncovers a myriad of forbidden secrets that might keep her trapped in The Land Beyond the Portal.

J.S. Bailey lives with her husband, Nathan, in Southwest Ohio. She loves astronomy, crocheting, metal detecting, reading and writing. She also is quite found of Mexican cuisine. The Land Beyond the Portal is J.S. Bailey's first novel.

J.S. Bailey did a wonderful job on this heart-warming, inspirational story. I was hooked from beginning to end. With loveable characters and a great story line, this book is definitely a must read!
Since this book is not the kind of book I would usually read, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get into it. But I was so wrong! The twist and turns in this book will keep you guessing till the end. Just when you think you have it all figured out J.S. Bailey throws another curve ball at you! It takes a great author to pull this off, but J.S. Bailey did just that. I give this book 4 stars. So what are you waiting for? Read it for yourself and enjoy your journey through the portal!
Hi Bookworms, I have a treat for you today. I would like to introduce you to a new Author Laurie Bowler. So Laurie is gonna take over the blog and tell you about herself and the books she writes. So please take it away Laurie :)

Firstly
let me introduce myself, my name is Laurie Bowler and I live in the
United Kingdom. I am 29 years old and I have been writing since November
2009. My writing consists of many genres and styles such as horror,
fantasy and paranormal romance, I have many titles available and you go
to the following links to see more of my work:

www.laurie-bowler.com

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=laurie+bowler

So
far, my writing journey has been exciting and fun, I love to be able to
be a guest and tell readers about me and my work. Admittedly, it was
not in my plans to be a writer and my main job is to teach adults in the
care industry and of course to be a mummy to my little girl, so in my
spare time I write and I have succeeded in writing 31 stories so far
which are full stories and short stories.

When
I first started writing I had no idea I would write so many, but sat
down one day and began my very first story Vanquished, since then I did
not stop and my imagination works overtime with many ideas and
creativity that I can barely keep up with myself some days.

Between
working my teaching job and spending time with my lovely family, I
write horror and fantasy, these two genres are the ones that I really
enjoy. The best part is when I get to be anyone that I want to be inside
my stories and to develop the characters to ways that I want them to
be. Also I love to be able to create new creatures and new fantasy
worlds!

Death Bite is my new horror story, and
is incredibly graphic in the details of the storyline, and I have had
immense fun writing these.

With Death Bite, I had an idea that
writing something with Zombies as the featuring storyline would be a
bit like an icebreaker to start my writing getting into the right
direction in the horror scene, and so it began. I will admit at first
I thought I was going to puke, I put that much detail I gave myself
nightmares and my stomach turned over with every chapter that I
wrote.

Normally I only write paranormal
stories but I felt like having a change, I will be publishing plenty
of new paranormal stories in the next few weeks but I need to get
over my newly acquired horror bug first.

Here is the synopsis:

Jessica
Hargreaves knows a thing or two about being a strong woman. But as a
deadly epidemic sweeps across the world, she is put to the test as
the flesh eaters rise from the dead and begin to consume the living
flesh of the people they encounter. Can Jessica and her small band of
survivors escape the evil that is rising across the land or will she
be consumed by the unholy hunger of the damned?

Dawn: a. How old you are -, A. Jacob Sweeny: As old as you want me to be ;)
Dawn: b. Where do you live? - A. Jacob Sweeny: In beautiful Northern California-so far under a roof
Dawn: c. A little about your family life? -
I come from a family of 4 siblings. I was the total middle child before baby came along years later. My mother was reading to me Greek tragedies by the time I was seven and explaining them to me. She was a lover of History too.
Dawn: d. Do you have a devoted man in your life? S. Jacob Sweeny:- So far I collected one, but Elizabeth Taylor is my role model :o So who knows…
Dawn: 2. Did you always know that you wanted to become a writer?
A. Jacob Sweeny: Not really. When I was little I wanted to be an Opera singer. Then I wanted to be a teacher - and I did end up teaching for a couple of years. But my love of history is my obsession; so I continued with my secret wish to become an archaeologist. I wrote as a hobby and always enjoyed telling stories. I also wrote a couple of songs that two separate bands used and they are recorded on CD! My first serious writing endeavor mixed my love of history with my love of words and I wrote a complete historical screenplay.
Dawn: 3. Do you have a special place that you like to go to write? A. Jacob Sweeny: My sofa!
Dawn: 4. Is it hard to balance your writing with family life?
A. Jacob Sweeny: Yes. People who don't write have no idea how much alone time it takes. I have become a hermit. But don’t worry loved ones. Only one more book in the Trilogy.
Dawn: 5. How long did it take you to write Pulse of Heroes?A. Jacob Sweeny: Including tons of research over 6 years!
Dawn: 6. How did you come up with the idea of your story line?
A. Jacob Sweeny: The Immortals have been in my head for several years and they showed up after I finished writing my historical Screenplay (7 years ago). The story of Michelle and Elliot came after I talked to my sixteen-year-old cousin who asked why so many books follow the same romantic plot. Don't hate me- but I don't read pure romance book so she explained to me that it's always a damsel in distress line, or a kick-Ass chick; Sometimes very sluty too. She asked me why are there no normal girls in books she can really identify with. So I decided to write something for her that is different and it was a serious EUREKA moment. To combine my existing immortals into a YA romance. Pulse Of Heroes was born just like that.
Dawn: 7. Is it hard to come up with the names of your beloved characters or did it just come to you?
A. Jacob Sweeny: Actually 'Michal' is the name of a girl in my original historical screenplay and I loved her character there, but she doesn't get much playtime. So I resurrected her as modern day Michelle. I always loved the name Elijah and Elliot is a variant of this name. It is fittingly a Godly name, which I thought was perfect for the character. With the rest of the immortals and other names I had to do a lot of research of ancient myths from the countries they came from. I picked name from there, so yes each one is tied to mythology and ancient history.
Dawn: 8. I notice a few bits of the story reminded me of Twilight. Did Twilight inspire Pulse of Heroes in any way?
A. Jacob Sweeny: No. This has come up so often that it's laughable at this point. I never read Twilight, and only seen the first movie once, and I was already writing my novel. A hero/super human/angel falling for a human girl is a classic theme and was certainly not invented by Mrs. Meyer. In ancient texts from around the world and even in the Bible there are plenty of stories about angels, Gods, demigods falling for the beauty of the daughters of man.
Dawn: 9. If you were stranded on a deserted Island and could pick one book to keep with you, what book would you chose?
A. Jacob Sweeny: The Holy Bible- It is the greatest story ever told! And the beauty of it's verses have been copied by many, including by my beloved William Shakespeare. I would like to add that I do not practice any religion, but am spiritual and believe in a higher mightier power that us humans have only tried to explain.
Dawn: 10. Do you have a release date set for The Pulse? A. Jacob Sweeny: Halloween 2011 But releasing the real name of the Novel on Oct 1st. ~The Pulse~ has been a working title.
Dawn: 11. I know that recently your book Pulse of Heroes was posted for free all over the Internet. I know as an author this had to be heart breaking for you. Do you have any advise for other authors to keep this from happening to them? Do you have any thing you would like to say to the person who stole your book?
A. Jacob Sweeny: I have decided to remove my book from sites that offer it in E-pub or PDF forms. We all love E-books, but people who pirate them steal food off the author's table. This is especially true with independent authors who don't get any money to survive on from any publisher. All the hours, years and tears are unpaid for. I would like to say that if pirating continues more and more authors will refuse to offer their books as an e-book form- and people will have to cover the printing costs of a paper book. Everyone loses.
Dawn: 12. So if I sweet talk you would you give us a few details about what you have in store for our beloved characters, Michelle and Elliot in The Pulse2?
A. Jacob Sweeny: Well all I can say is that they have a lot to work on after the horrible things that took place in Europe and even between them as a couple.
Oh we go on other adventures too!
Thank you Dawn xoxox

Kristie Cook, author of The Soul Saver Series, has took time out of her busy day to chat with us! So without further interruptions take it away Kristie.....

Promise
When Alexis Ames is attacked by creatures that can’t be real, she decides it’s time she learns who she really is, with or without the help of her mother, who guards their family’s secrets closely. After meeting the inhumanly attractive, multi-talented Tristan Knight, however, Alexis retreats behind her façade of normalcy…until she discovers he’s not exactly normal either. Then their secrets begin to unravel.

Their union brings hope and promise to her family’s secret society, the Angels’ army, and to the future of mankind. But it also incites a dangerous pursuit by the enemy – Satan’s minions and Tristan’s creators. After all, Alexis and Tristan are a match made in Heaven and in Hell.

Purpose
Lost in despair, Alexis teeters on the edge of an abyss, her lifeline of hope fraying into a thin thread. If it snaps, she’ll plunge into complete darkness. With the help of her son and her writing, she’s been able to hold on. Until now. Erratic impulses, disturbing delusions and her own demonic blood threaten her sanity. When she’s forced to choose between hanging onto hope or letting go to serve her Amadis purposes, she faces a decision with inconceivable sacrifices.
Alexis runs to the one place she thinks will provide answers, only to find herself at the center of another battle of good versus evil, not only with the Daemoni, not only within herself…but also against the worst opponent imaginable. But even if she wins, what will she lose?

The Evolution of a Character

When I first started writing fiction again, an intense scene came to mind immediately. I had no idea what was really going on, just that this woman was about to find out there was a lot more in store for her life than she ever expected. She would learn many secrets about souls, angels and demons (and their many forms) and she would play a key role in this supernatural world she never knew existed.

But first she had to get over a huge initial shock that I can’t tell you because it would give too much away. Sorry, but I don’t want to ruin your fun! This part became a pivotal scene in what is now Purpose, the second book of my Soul Saves Series.

In the original scene, “she” (no name yet) was a 38-year-old widow with twins going off to college. She was a bestselling author of a fantasy series, but had no idea there was anything different about her. Except for losing her very normal and human husband in a car accident at a very young age and developing a Rowling-like writing career, her life had been pretty normal.

Somehow—and it didn’t take long—this woman became Alexis. In Promise, Alexis starts at 18 years old. Although she’s 27 in Purpose, I don’t think she’ll ever reach the age of 38. She already knows she’s not normal because, you know, instant healing and a sixth sense just aren’t part of a normal human’s abilities. Her mother doesn’t age and she also has “quirks.” So Alexis is not completely in the dark. She just doesn’t know why they’re like that. She does aspire to be a bestselling author. She’s obviously not married yet and has no kids and even when it does happen, it’s all completely different than when I first started with a simple character sketch.

Fortunately, all of this came to me early on. There was a lot in that original scene that I realized wouldn’t work once the rest of the story came to me. But it at least got me started. And once I started, I learned more and more about Alexis and the rest of the characters each day. And now, the only part of that one scene that remains is that big shock. How the characters arrived at that place and where they go from there have all changed and so have Alexis and the other characters.

As the story evolved, I came to know each character better—they didn’t change much, only became more real and multi-dimensional. I can’t think of any that are completely different now than they were at the end of the first draft. There is a minor character that took on the role of what was once two people. There are characters who started as one-liners, but have and will become pretty major players in the series.

I love them all, though some I know much better than others at this point. I look forward to becoming more intimate with the others, as well as new ones, in future books. Part of the fun of writing is meeting and getting to know these people, as if they were real. And just like real people, they don’t just spill out everything about themselves as soon as they have a name. It takes time to learn what makes them tick and why they behave the way they do—what happened in their past to make them who they are now.

They will all evolve over the series, but especially Alexis. We will see her grow and mature and eventually be prepared to lead the Angels’ Army on Earth. But first, we have to see her hit rock bottom and climb out of it. We suffer with her as she faces and overcomes the challenges put before her, each one strengthening her and preparing her for what she is meant to do. By the end of the series, she will have evolved into a different person. She’ll be Alexis…but better.

Jacob Sweeny A suspenseful, passionate, paranormal romance that sweeps through the emotions of first love and heartache as it traverses centuries and continents.

Michelle used to feel like she was behind in everything, especially school and relationships. Her great aunt from the old country says she is like a bland meal, "no salt or pepper". But in junior year, everything changes. Her father takes a position on the Town Council, a popular boy in school becomes interested in her, and most importantly, the Hekademos Learning Center, a private school for 'troubled' students, moves into her quiet neighborhood amidst the protests of the entire town.

After an embarrassing fall over the school wall, Michelle meets Elliot and her ordinary ‘bland’ life changes its course forever.

Elliot is no ordinary human. In fact, no one at the Hekademos Learning Center is. Beautiful and fierce, they have survived throughout the millennia by weaving in and out of human events. Through them, Michelle learns that history and myths from around the world are dotted with references to their kind. Michelle falls madly in love with the ever-striking and mysterious Elliot and, as much as he tries to fight it, he develops strong feelings for her as well. Although Elliot carries numerous painful memories from his many pasts, he disregards his own better judgment and the advice of his friends, and finds himself falling for Michelle‘s offbeat personality. Their feelings grow in intensity, but when History catches up with them, the difference between their life paths threatens to destroy any future that they might have had together.

Michelle learns that there are infinite shades of gray between black and white, and has to deal with the bundle of contradictory emotions called love. She has to trust her intuition in order to face the danger and uncertainty of being drawn into Elliot’s wondrous world. Ultimately, it is up to Michelle to make the split-second, life-altering decision that will either tear them apart forever, or give them another chance.

But Michelle's mom knew better. She recognized those cries. Those weer the pangs of the heart, the kind that only a girl could experience. She also knew that somewhere in between the weeping and the gasping a boy's name hung onto every tear. --Pulse of Heroes by A. Jacob Sweeny

That quote is just one of the reasons I love this book! Move over Edward and Bella, a new power couple has hit the scene! Michelle and Elliot from Pulse of Heroes by A. Jacob Sweeny will give Stephine Myer's characters a run for their money! I have read so many books, it takes a lot to knock my socks off but A. Jacob Sweeny did just that! With her original storyline and unforgettable characters she has an award winning series in the making. Who needs vampires and werewolves when we have a whole house full of extremely sexy superheroes! The story is action packed from beginning to end. You will not be bored anytime in this story and that says a lot for a book that is over 500 pages long. It takes one amazing author to connect the reader to the characters in a way that you feel like you are part of the story. But that's just what Sweeny accomplished.
I was shocked and awed by this book and I know anyone that reads it will feel the same way! I can't remember the last time I read a book that held the power to make me cry. It will be a very long time before this story will leave my mind and heart. What I love most about this book is the fact that like in a real relationship Michelle and Elliot's romance is not without it's ups and downs. I was so emotionally connected to the story I felt everything Michelle felt. When she was happy I was happy for her. When she was embarrassed I was red-faced right along with her. And when she was heartbroken, I was also heartbroken and teary eyed. It takes an amazing author to accomplish such a feat but that's just what Sweeny did!
In conclusion I am so happy I had the chance to read this wonderful book and feel so honored to be know such an amazing author. So keep your eyes peeled because A. Jacob Sweeny is on her way to the very top of the young adult best seller list. But don't take my word for it, read it for your self! I have made it extra easy for you by adding a link to Amazon on my blog for you to purchase her book. So what are you waiting for? Order your copy tonight!Dawn Crippshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03149674382949805069noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-586860476250381902.post-76131107022323212042011-08-16T19:51:00.000-05:002011-08-16T19:51:29.335-05:00Review: Sunrise at Sunset by Jaz Primo I would just like to start by saying, I feel so lucky to be picked by these great authors to write reviews on their books. My reviews are based on my opinion and my opinion only. Do not let my opinion keep you from reading any book. The best way to know if you like a book is to read it for yourself. With that said let's get on with the review.

About the book: We vampires are focused and tend to shape our own realities. My name is Katrina Rawlings, and I am a vampire. I declare that with neither pride nor ego. I am simply nature's most dangerous predator. On occasion, it's a very valuable quality. It helped me protect Caleb Taylor one day when he was very young. But that single, traumatic day is behind him now; wiped from his memory, or so I hope. Caleb has finally matured into a rather striking young man, and believe me, I like what I see. I'll readily admit that there are issues for us to confront and overcome, though a sense of mutual commitment isn't one of them. I'm feeling hopeful for our future together, in fact. But an adversary from my past has returned to haunt me, and she's trying to get back at me through Caleb. That was her first...and last...mistake. I'll protect my Caleb at all costs, and I'll make her regret the day she was born. So, I suppose that I'm not just a vampire. I'm about to become someone's worst nightmare!

If you are a big Twilight fan, you will love this book! This book is not a rip-off of Twilight by no means, but if you have read it as many times as I have you will see the similarities.

The two main characters Katrina and Caleb are very well described. You get drawled right into their lives. One of the interesting things about this book is the power switch of the characters. Unlike Twilight where Edward is the strong protective one and Bella is the weak human in need of protection. In Sunrise at Sunset the woman, Katrina is the strong Alpha in the relationship. At first this was hard for me to get use to but after a while it didn't bother me that much. It was just hard to imagine a woman carrying a full size man around lol.
And just like Twilight the story line gets off to a slow start, with the characters getting to know one another. Then Caleb finds out, this beautiful woman he is starting to fall for is a vampire. It takes Caleb a little while to get use to this idea. Just like it would any of us if we realize, we were dating a vampire.
It is over half way through the book before it starts to pick up speed. But when it finally does pick up the pace it is a wild ride! So like every story there has to be a conflict. This is the point in the storyline when other vampires are brought into the mix. Two of Katrina's closes vampire friends Alton and spunky Paige are introduced to the story. I am more drawn to Paige than Katrina in part of the story. I just love her spunky party girl spirit! The story draws to an end with a surprising twist I didn't see coming.
All in all this is a good read. I will be reading the rest of the series to see what Jaz has in store for our characters Katrina and Caleb. So keep your eyes peeled for the review of the next book in the series A Bloody London Sunset. Thanks for taking the time to read my review :) Dawn Crippshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03149674382949805069noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-586860476250381902.post-57417714513189855922011-08-12T17:26:00.003-05:002011-08-12T17:28:57.201-05:00Guest Post By Jaz Primo

Guest Blog Posting by Jaz Primo
For "I Love Books"
For Friday, August 12, 2011

I'm proud to be here with you today on I Love Books! I was honored to have the opportunity to appear on I Love Books last month to take part in an interview with Dawn and a giveaway of my debut novel, Sunrise at Sunset. So, you can only imagine my pleasure at taking part in a guest posting this month.
*grinning*
*rubbing my hands together and then loudly cracking my knuckles*
Ouch!
Um, sorry. *blush*
One of the most intimidating experiences for an author is the occasional pang of worry from wondering if what we're writing will be of interest to someone to read. For authors, our imaginations are geared towards notions, ideas, and fantasies that either flash into existence when we least expect them or that we mull around and ruminate over for days or weeks upon end. For those reasons, authors are impassioned by storyline concepts or character developments to the point that they string them together into a gradually more cohesive series of paragraphs. Eventually, they end up with (hopefully!) some cogent prose that is meaningful, linear, and well-crafted. But ultimately one important question remains: Is the novel of interest to anyone else?
*smirking*
Well, there's the rub, isn't it?

A number of experienced and successful authors have passed along an important nugget of wisdom to the rest of us in interviews over the years: Don't write about what you believe will be the most popular topic or genre, write about what you're impassioned about the most. By doing so, readers will key into that energy and be drawn into your story.
To me, that's excellent advice. My Sunset Vampire Series was written during the early tidal wave of vampire popularity ushered in by the likes of Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and True Blood. Vampires were all the vogue, and seemingly nobody could do wrong to write a novel about them. During that time, and even since then, marketing specialists would advise an author to avoid territory that was so well-trodden . . . no, rather, ablaze! . . . in the marketplace. In fact, a number of prospective literary agents told me that very thing: "You're a sound, competent writer but I just don't think that I could sell your manuscript at this time and in this market."
*sigh*
I assure you, I felt like the depressed clowns depicted in the dramatic opera, "Pagliacci." (I say "felt" because there's no way that I could "sing" the lamentation as well as anyone who's performed the classic masterpiece. For those who don't know me, I simply can't carry a tune in a bucket with two big handles! But I digress . . .) The negative feedback from literary agents was depressing to say the least. Given that, why did I persist in bringing my series to the light of day as an independent author? Passion . . . pure and simple.

So, if passion is the magical key ingredient, then how does passion convert to a finished novel? Here's how it happened for me. I fervently believed in my story and characters. Each character's dialogue was an individual instrument in a symphony of unique voices that resonated in my mind. Each character was as tangibly real to me as the history students who fill my college classroom each semester. The events that transpired in my novels were as multi-dimensional and substantive as the memories of real events that I had experienced throughout my life. If "reality" is nothing less than the perception of sensory input by the human brain that is given tangibility by the mere engram in which it resides, then the events in my novels seemed no less plausible to me. In short, the story and characters compelled themselves into existence by the power of my mind and imagination alone. And that, I believe, is what is required for anyone who seeks to make their dreams and fantasies into the reality of a published novel.

Many of you who are reading this blog post have wondered what it might take to become an author. You may have toyed with fanciful ideas of being the next great author, but hesitated, pondering if you had what it takes to be successful. Well, there are a number of important supporting skill sets that you'll need to complete the journey, such as: basic writing skills, a flair for description and dialogue, patience, self-discipline, and a sense of dedication. However, a command of each of those skills and qualities is insufficient if you don't have the glue that holds them together and focuses them: passion.

I hope that you've found today's blog posting to be beneficial. Being an author isn't easy, but it can be equally rewarding and gratifying. Are you the next great author to grace bookstore shelves and eBook retail databases? Here's an idea . . . harness your passion and find out. My sincere thanks to Dawn for the opportunity to appear on I Love Books once again. It's been such a pleasure! Peace. -- JazDawn Crippshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03149674382949805069noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-586860476250381902.post-47754980335672682172011-07-25T16:52:00.000-05:002011-07-25T16:52:00.894-05:00A COOL GIVE-AWAY TO CHECK OUT FROM AUTHOR THEA HARRISONhttp://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_posts/1399104-storm-s-heart-release-day-giveaway
of the Sunset Series.
Thank you Jaz for taking time out of your busy life to answer my questions! So Jaz

Dawn: So Jaz lets start by getting to know you a little better.

Jaz: I live in central Oklahoma with my wonderful wife, Lori, and a long-lived cat. While I'm a history buff who has a keen sense of humor, and who loves puns, my paramount passion in life is writing! I harbor a lifelong love for fantasy, science fiction, and vampires in both literature and film. My full-time career has been in higher education working for a college, where I also teach U.S. history a couple of nights a week. I love teaching, which allows me an opportunity to reach out to students in a more direct way than the support-related function of my daily administrative work.

Dawn: Wow! You are one busy man!So why did you decide to become a writer?

Jaz: I've been smitten with creative writing since I was a young boy in grade school. I used to write short stories, and occasionally my teachers would permit me to read them to the class. I don't have the skills (or coordination!) to play a musical instrument or draw/paint, so writing has always been my outlet for emotions and the machinations of my imagination

Dawn: That's great! I have always wanted to be a writer. But I find its easier to come up with the story in my head than putting in on paper "chuckles" So I will stick with reading other people's work.

Dawn: How many book have you written so far?

Jaz: I have written three novels thus far.

Sunrise at Sunset (Sunset Vampire Series, Book #1)

A Bloody London Sunset (Sunset Vampire Series, Book #2)

Summit at Sunset (Sunset Vampire Series, Book #3) -- To Be Released in October 2011

Dawn: After a visit to your web site I am very excited to read this series. I just love Vampire fiction and can't get enough of it!

Dawn: Tell me Jaz where do you find the inspiration for your novels?

Jaz:I receive inspiration from the effect that music has on my imagination. Granted, sometimes I will see a film that evokes strong emotions in me that might guide my feelings towards a situation or characters, but mostly it's music that presses the "start" button on my imagination, and then "away I go."

Dawn: I have noticed a lot of authors printing a play list at the end of their books. So now I know why! "laughing:

Dawn: Since there are two books in the Sunset Series, are you by any chance working on a third?

Jaz: Currently, I'm going through my editor's markup of my third Sunset Vampire manuscript (Summit at Sunset) and making changes or corrections that she recommended. Once the novel has been published this fall, my next project is a historical fantasy novel that I'm not quite ready to reveal because I'm still performing research for the core material. Rest assured, there's more to come on the topic in the not-too-distant future.

Dawn: Tell me where can I buy a copy of your books?

Jaz:My Sunset Vampire Series novels are available in trade paperback and/or eBook formats from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Apple iBookstore, and some local booksellers.

(Dawn: I have added links for both Sunrise at Sunset and A Bloody London Sunset from Amazon to the blog page. For anyone interested in buying these wonderful books.)

Dawn: Great! I will be adding both these books to my Amazon wish list as soon as the interview is over "Smiling broadly"

Dawn: It seems like e-books are all people talk about anymore. I personally still prefer paperback. I love the feel of holding a book in my hands and the smell of it. Plus after I finish it I can add it to my bookshelf. So Jaz what is your preference?

Jaz: For the past two years year, since acquiring my Kindle, I really prefer to read eBooks. I just love carrying my library around with me, and the eInk technology on the Kindle has the appearance and contrast of reading an actual printed page. It's especially wonderful on trips or at events when trying to tote physical books around might be inconvenient or impractical. That being said, I still collect my favorite novels in paperback and add them to my "keep forever" bookshelves at home. (Yes, that means paying for two copies instead of one, but aren't the best authors and stories worth purchasing twice? *wink*)

Dawn: Tell me do you have a favorite author?

Jaz: That's easy to answer! My favorite author is L.E. Modesitt, Jr. He is the author of more than 55 novels spanning a number of fantasy series, including: The Saga of Recluce (my favorite series!), The Corean Chronicles, The Ecolitan Institute, The Spellsong Cycle, and The Imager Portfolio.

Dawn: Wow! I would have had to think about that question for days! Then I still don't know if I would have had an answer! "Laughing Loudly"

Dawn: When I was in high school I read a book called "Sex Education" by Jenny Davis (and no its not x-rated lol). Still to this day that book has stuck with me. I can still remember the emotional roller coaster it put me thru like I just read it yesterday. Have you ever read a book like that?

Jaz: Well, I would have to say that rather than a single book, L.E. Modesitt's Saga of Recluce series has influenced me the most because of his wonderful writing style and the thoughtful, realistic manner that his characters and settings are presented. Modesitt has most impressed and influenced me by the capable, strong manner that many central female characters are presented in his novels. (I don't like reading about helpless women...give me Xena: Warrior Princess or Wonder Woman instead! I believe that women are inherently stronger and more capable than popular culture or society is willing to admit or embrace.)

Dawn: Well I totally love that answer!

Dawn: Do you have any advise for someone that may be thinking about becoming a writer?

Jaz: First and foremost, take the time to hone your writing craft and skills through writing exercises, formal classes, or workshops, and by reading the works of other good writers. Next, find yourself a viable, unique storyline and create compelling characters and settings that readers can immerse themselves in. Finally, secure the services of an excellent editor, and locate well-read proofreaders who can critique your work. It's so important that before you query an agent or publisher, or attempt to self-publish your own work, that you have a well-written manuscript to release into the world. Those are essential keys to potential success for all writers!

Dawn: Great advise!

Dawn: Well you are already on book three of the Sunset Series, do you know how many books will be in the series?

Jaz: Well, I can say for certain that I already know how the series ends, but I'm not certain how many books there will be to get to that point. I know there will at least be five, but probably not more than seven. How's that? *grinning*

Dawn: "Laughing" Well that will work. After reading about Sunrise at Sunset, your characters seem very interesting. Can you give me some details about them?

Jaz: Beginning in Sunrise at Sunset, each of the two central characters (Katrina and Caleb) are on their own journeys through life that intersect under unusual circumstances. Both of them harbor some emotional scars or aberrations that inhibit their ability to be "complete" as individuals. Though seemingly flawed, in their own unique manner each character engenders attributes that harbor the capacity for a positive influence on one other. I think that most readers will find that my novels are refreshingly unconventional in the way that I approach gender roles for a couple of the main characters. Granted, I have received some negative (sometimes insulting) feedback for breaking stereotypical societal norms in that area. Yet, so many more people have supportively declared that my novels are fresh and different, and they appreciate the assertive, reverent, and capable manner that I present key female characters. Finally, my characters don't remain stagnant; they continue to grow and develop through each of my novels, just as we do as people in real life. I think that makes the characters tangible and enjoyable to read about.

Dawn: Oh now I know Sunrise at Sunset will be my next book purchase! So If I beg will you give me a preview?

Jaz: How about a brief teaser for the third Sunset Vampire novel?

Dawn: Oh that would be great!

Jaz: In A Bloody London Sunset, Caleb Taylor learned that vampires are virtually everywhere. Soon, he experiences firsthand the mounting scale of that revelation.

As time nears for a rare gathering of vampires in Europe, powerful vampire Katrina Rawlings and her human mate, Caleb, are brought front and center before a dangerous galvanization of opposing ideologies. Despite Katrina’s best efforts, she is drawn into the escalating tensions by her friend and former mentor, Alton. When mysterious vampires preemptively seek out Katrina through Caleb, she is challenged to carefully balance diplomacy against concerns for the safety of the man she dearly loves. As push comes to shove, Katrina looks to her best friend, Paige, for help. But how much does the fate of one human weigh against a precariously-held and centuries old peace that threatens to destabilize the worlds of humans and vampires alike?

Get ready for Summit at Sunset, the exciting third novel in the Sunset Vampire Series!

Jaz: Wow, have we reached the end of the interview already? I hope that you and your blog followers will take an opportunity to read my novels. I think that readers will find my storyline and characters to be fresh and different from the traditional facets of paranormal vampire romance that's currently in the marketplace. Finally, thank you for the wonderful opportunity to be interviewed for your blog, Dawn. I've genuinely enjoyed it! *Big Smile*

Dawn: No Jaz! I should be the one thanking you! This has been a very exciting interview!

Dawn: So Kymberlee tell us a little bit about your self.

Kymberlee: I am 36 years old. I live in McSherrytown, Pennsylvania with my husband and son Connor.

Dawn: Being a wife and mother is it hard for you to find time to write?

Kymberlee: Not Really. Its all about organization and being that I am OCD its not a problem LOL.

Dawn: Do you have a special place you go to write?

Kymberlee: Yes! I love to write in my bedroom with my smelly candles, music and perfect lighting.

Dawn: Boy that sounds so peaceful! So how old where you when you decided you wanted to become a writer?

Kymberlee: I started really Writing when I was in 5th grade. By the time I was a freshman in high school, I knew I wanted to entertain people with my stories.

Dawn: Wow! You knew from a young age what you wanted to do with your life. That's so great!

Dawn: How many books have you written so far?

Kymberlee: I wrote a children's series called Ravenwood about seven child fairies that learn all about values and morality on their adventures through the kingdom of Ravenwood. It started off just as little bed time stories for my son Connor and, he begged me not to stop. So it became a 25 book series for elementary aged children. Each book broaches a different value. Another series that I wrote is called Supernatural Society, and that is about the human race becoming the minority, and four beings A demon, werewolf, witch and vampire go up against all odds to save our race. This series is definitely more geared towards the 18+ crowd, it gets saucy!

Dawn: That is amazing Kymberlee! Your like a superwoman lol. Raising a family and writing so many stories! That's some imagination you have! Where do you get your inspiration for your unique books?

Kymberlee: My inspiration comes from everywhere! A song, a dream and funny enough my wonderful family.

Dawn: I can tell that your family means a lot to you. As a mother I can totally relate to that. What are you working on at the moment?

Kymberlee: Right now I am writing the 2nd book in the Compulsion Series and finishing Enchantment. Compulsion is a book about Lilyann Moon, and her trials after her grandmother dies under highly suspicious circumstances. Lily finds out that she is a witch along with her 11 young family members. The vampires have found out that the Moon line didn't end with her grandmother, and now she's is a race against time to save her coven. The bright spot in her nightmare was meeting Mason, but is she in love with the enemy? With a coven of 12 there is a character there that everyone will fall in love with.
Enchantment is about 16 year old Teddy O'Malley. She is very happy in the beginning of her junior year at a Virginia Beach high school on the Navy base where her mom is a Lt. and a surgeon. Her world gets flipped upside down when her mother gets orders to go to a Naval Base in London. Teddy is totally miserable but used to having to move with her mom. As she's packing she finds a letter from her father speaking of her hidden heritage. Her father is a fairy, but just any fairy the King of Iridesia. On her last night in the states she wishes on a star to meet her dad and is answered by a fairy named Flynn, but is her going to help Teddy or has she befriended an enemy of her fathers'?

Dawn: Both of those books sound so interesting. I am excited to read them! When will they be released?

Kymberlee: Compulsion is being released through Schiel & Denver 10/1/2011

Dawn: Oh great! I am so excited! So Kymberlee if I beg you just a little would you please, pretty please with sugar on top give us a sneak peek of your book Compulsion?

Kymberlee: I will do you 1 better and give you the 1st page.

Dawn: Ok Kymberlee you are the best! Ok fans here is the first page of Compulsion by Kymberlee Burks-Miller

I am nothing spectacular. Not the girl that everyone turns and ogles as she passes by. Not the girl who is overly sexy, or sporty. For that matter not even a total braniac. Just an ordinary girl. Tall, slender, long curly brown hair and weird blue eyes. Like I said ordinary to the extreme! So why is he staring at me? The man in the suit that is totally designer by the way. My guess Armani. With those piercing emerald green eyes. My phone vibrates and Steve Earle’s Galway Girl plays loudly. What can I say I’m Irish! “Hel-lo” my voice chipper as it always is when I’m at the mall! I recognized the hysteria in the familiar voice on the other end. It’s my father and he is crying “Lily, sweetie you’ll need to come home..........granny has passed.” My world has just shattered for the second time in my life with those three simple little words.

I have gotten pretty good at hiding my emotions in public. When your mom dies of Breast Cancer when you’re in your early teens you feel like scratching someone’s eyeballs out! And that really is not a socially acceptable public display of emotion right? People come up to you with their sad smiles and give their condolences. And then after a while people continue to stare but the comments are usually behind your back especially where my family lives which is Hampstead, Maryland. “Oh that poor man and he has all those children to raise alone.” “Those poor girls without their mothers’ guidance so young.” That’s why when I applied and was accepted to Towson State University in Towson, Maryland, which is almost an hour from home, I jumped and took it! Pre-Law thank you very much. So I left Towson Town Center with my poker face firmly in place, heading to the garage to get my Jeep, and allow the much needed breakdown and phone call to Camden, my best friend. I got in my Jeep and the tears started just as I started dialing. Two rings and Cam answered “Lily, oh my god! Your dad just called, I’m so sorry!” I started my Jeep and turned the radio off ironically the song playing was Kris Allen’s live like we’re dying. I rubbed at my eyes with the sleeves of my shirt and said to Cam “ I just don’t understand how Cam!” more sobs “I just saw her last weekend, she was walking in her garden picking herbs and baking about a million cookies, and pies. This makes no sense!” I pulled out of my space a little erratically and came around the turn going down out of the garage a little too fast still talking to Cam on speaker “I know it’s hard Lily, she’s been like a mom to you for so long.” When I was just about to tell Cam, like only a bff can, to stop! Out of nowhere there was the guy from the mall again in front of my Jeep! I slammed on my brakes, just in time and screamed “For shits sake!” He just stared at me. All I could do was stare back. I felt like his eyes wouldn’t let mine go. He was so cute. Tall, lean but muscular, and great hair, brown and a full head of it! Cam’s wailing brought me out of the thought of just how yummy this guy was and that I could have just killed him. “Lily what’s wrong? Did you hit something? Are you ok? Lily answer me!” I turned to look back at him, but he was gone. Where did he go? I scanned the garage, but nothing, no sight of him! So I answered “Yes I’m fine, almost hit a hot guy but. Whatever.”

So this wraps up the interview with Kymberlee. Hope you all enjoyed it! Because Kymberlee is such a wonderful person, she is giving a way two signed posters. One of Compulison and one of Enchanted.
